Your Immune System Prevents You From Being SICK!Have you ever noticed that when the flu or a cold is going around, some people invariably donıt get it? Their friends and family call them lucky, but they have more than luck on their side. The answer lies in the strength of their immune systems! Even though germs, bacteria, and viruses play a pivotal role in the spread of contagious illness, your individual ability to resist infection is even more significant. A strong immune system is the most essential component of radiant good health. The critical issue between individual hardiness versus "germ theory" was probably never better exemplified than in the half-century debate between Dr. Claude Bernard, who recognized the importance of the health of an organism's internal environment (immune system), and Louis Pasteur, whose contribution to science was the germ theory of disease. We now know that itıs not the "germ", but actually the "body" that can make all the difference in whether an individual wards off disease or succumbs to it. Components of your immune system include specialized white blood cells known as lymphocytes and macrophages, antibodies, lymph nodes, and organs such as the spleen and thymus gland. Poor nutrition or malnutrition is a major contributor to immune system decline; so are heavy metals, chemicals, toxins, radiation, and prolonged psychological or physical stress. Enhance your immune system by getting adequate sleep, consuming abundant amounts of organic fruits and vegetables, and minimizing exposure to chemicals and radiation. Decent hygiene - especially keeping fingernails, mouth, eyes, and nose clean - is another critical factor. Important Immuneo-Modulators are: beta glucan, garlic, omega-3 essential fatty acids, quercetin, N-acetyl-cysteine, COQ-10, and L-carnitine. These are in addition to taking a good multivitamin and mineral combination-especially one with at least 1000 mg of vitamin C and 400 IU of vitamin E, zinc, and beta carotene. YOU MAY BE THIRSTY, NOT SICK! There are six basic elements of good health that are ignored by most Americans - especially drinking adequate amounts of pure water. Many of us live in a state of chronic dehydration - only drinking liquids when they "feel" thirsty, and even then, usually soft drinks, coffee, tea, alcoholic beverages, juices and other water substitutes. These water substitutes DO NOT fulfill the body's needs for water - in the tissue, blood, cells, organs, lymph, and excretory systems. About 90 percent of American food dollars are spent on processed food. Want to improve your kids health? Turn off the tube. Children's caloric intake (and weight gain) has been shown to rise in proportion with their TV time. If you suffer from chronic pain, consider taking up yoga. Regular yoga can reduce the need for medication, improve mood, and ease anxiety in chronic pain suffers. "Itch Weed" Brings Relief... This natural substance relieves allergies is stinging nettle. The histamine in its needles causes hives and itching. But stinging nettle, which has been used in traditional medicine for prostate problems, rheumatism, and osteoarthritis, actually has powerful anti-inflammatory properties. Pycnogenol Pine Bark Extract Improves Blood Flow... and thus reduce risks associated with coronary heart disease, according to a study published in the October issue of the Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology. In the study, researchers used rings of aorta from rats to find that Pycnogenol helped to dilate blood vessels so that they can open and transport blood more efficiently. Review Confirms Saw Palmetto for BPH... in the November issue of JAMA, researchers reported a total of 18 randomized controlled trials involving 2,939 men met inclusion criteria and were analyzed. The evidence does suggest that saw palmetto extracts improves urologic symptoms and flow measures. Nail Fungus... Tea tree oil has long been a popular natural remedy for treating finagle infections of the fingernails and toenails. Tea tree oil recently received a boost from science when a double-blind study, using a randomized trial of 117 patients comparing tea tree oil to clotrimazole, a prescription antifungal solution. After six months of therapy with either tea tree oil or the drug resulted in identical treatment response. Digestive Enzymes... Most nutrient deficiencies result from the body's inability to absorb them, not from the lack of nutrients themselves. Supplementing digestive enzymes, such as HCl and bile, help insure assimilation and maximize utilization of nutrients for health and healing. If youıre over 40 and/or experiencing bloating feelings after you eat, consider digestive enzymes. Colostrum Benefits many different ailments, according to Donald Henderson, MD, MPH, a gastroenterologist. He reports that colostrum helps alleviate problems associated with leaky gut syndrome, by reducing inflammation, fighting bacteria and supplying immunity-boosting properties. According to Dr. Daniel G. Clark, M.D., author of Colostrum-Life's First Food, "Colostrum is the ultimate anti-aging, weight loss and immune supplement." If You Suffer From an "itis," like gastritis (heartburn), arthritis, bursitis, or colitis, you owe it to yourself to eliminate all wheat, gluten and grains (these include anything made from wheat, rye, buckwheat, oats, corn, barley and rice), and all dairy products for at least 30 days. This simple test can produce amazing results for millions of sufferers. Food mixing can also be a cause for "itis" problems. Mixing protein and grains or sweets can produce conflict. Thought For The Day... Attention Deficit Disorder is NOT a disease! It's a symptom of the lack of teaching skills by the educational community, poor diet, lack of nutrition, early parental discipline, allergies, lack of physical and/or mental stimulation and just poor communication. NOW, Ritalin has been found to have a lasting effect on the brain. Perhaps this will make a few attorneys millionaires by handling cases involving school administered drugs. |
