Systemic Enzymes Solve Inflammatory Conditions By Walt Edwards Systemic oral enzymes have been widely used in many European countries for decades, but have only recently featured in English-language journals and presented to the UK market. According to Dr Edward Howell, our natural supply of metabolic enzymes, which run our bodies, is limited and if we do not take in other enzymes such as from raw food, the resulting deficit will cause a multitude of chronic health problems. In Systemic Enzyme Therapy (SET), enzymes are taken orally on an empty stomach, are absorbed by the bloodstream and lymphatic system, and are then transported to wherever they are needed in the body. The most popular combination of enzymes used is called Wobenzym N which contains bromelain, papain, amylase, lipase, trypsin, chymotrypsin as well as the bioflavonoid rutin. Research evidence is presented to illustrate how taking enzymes has assisted sportsmen both by speeding up recovery following injury and by reducing the level of pain, inflammation and stiffness. It has also been found to shorten hospital stays, fight autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, reduce edema, help detoxification and improve the efficiency of blood circulation. Inflammation in heart disease and associated infections are discussed in particular, as well as SET's ability to lessen adverse reactions and side effects in conventional cancer treatment and increase survival rates following unconventional cancer treatment. The effects of SET are currently being investigated in cases of multiple sclerosis, juvenile diabetes, tinnitus and fibrocystic breast disease, as well as their role as anti-ageing agents. The article is fully referenced. The author, Michael Sellar, is editor of Enzyme Digest. Pain today is often treated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or analgesics. Examples of NSAIDs are aspirin, diclofenac, and ibuprofen which are quickly effective against pain and relieve the most disturbing symptoms. Other drugs, known as analgesics, are also used for pain relief, including acetaminophen (Tylenol) which has only weak anti-inflammatory properties and is not considered a true NSAID but is effective for mild to moderate pain. When these drugs are used for longer periods, virtually all patients suffer some complications which can range from micro bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract to liver or kidney toxicity. Excessive use can be particularly harmful. The Difference Between Healing and Treatment... Treatment is the application of drugs or surgery, the bringing into play of some foreign object, often alien to the bodyıs natural ecology, to stop illness' symptoms -- but from the outside. Unfortunately, NOT getting at the root of the problem. Your body, when all is said and done, is the greatest healing pharmacy. Turning on the healing powers of your own body is key to health. Inflammation, The Heart of Many Chronic Disease States! Systemic Oral Enzymes excel at quelling inflammation. This is important because inflammation is directly related to pain conditions as well as heart disease. They have been shown to help: 1. Break down proteins in the blood that cause inflammation and remove them via the blood stream and lymphatic system. 2. Remove "fibrin," the clotting material that prolongs inflammation. 3. Clear up edema (excess water) in the areas of inflammation. 4. Counteract chronic, recurrent inflammation, a primary cause of chronic degenerative joint and other diseases. Wobernzym N Systemic Oral Enzymes Relieves Inflammation... by working with the body's own immune defense system to moderate the inflammatory process. In many common auto-inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, the immune system becomes hyperstimulated and begins to malfunction. For some unknown reason, the bodyıs immune system begins to form unneeded antibodies. An antibody is any of numerous protein molecules produced as a primary immune defense by the immune systemıs lymphocytes. When the immune system malfunctions, it overreacts and produces antibodies that attack even the harmless substances. The result is the formation of irritating circulating immune complexes (CICs) that are misshapen and foreign to the body that they themselves are attacked, causing chronic inflammation resulting in pain. Enzymes Accelerate Elimination of CICs... Treatment using NSAIDs reduce inflammation and pain, but do nothing to start the healing process. In this sense, systemic oral enzymes may be superior. Their influence on the immune system is profound. They stimulate healthy production of messenger immune cells that quench inflammation and rev up immunity to produce a cleansing effect, helping to break up circulation immune complexes (CICs) at the center of the body's immune/inflammation firestorm. Eventually, the bodyıs inflammation levels are reduced, enabling the pain sufferer to once again resume normal acidity. Summary: 1. They degrade protein molecules which cause edema and exacerbate inflammation. 2. They increase the flexibility of red blood cells, improving their ability to pass through the arteries and inhibit the aggregation of platelets, thus helping prevent abnormal clotting. 3. They support the cleansing of tissues and promote better circulation, thus stimulating the formation of new, healthy tissue. Thought For The Day... Never forget that we pay for every act and thought and feeling we commit. One statement from the Bible says it all. Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. People are not punished for their deeds but BY THEM! If only everyone believed that... the world could change overnight! -- Walt |
