A Medical Doctor Speaks Up About Alternative Modalities! By Walt "dr health" Edwards Please contact me using this number: 1-541-247-7077 Past issues available on my web site: getwel-newsletter.
Without realizing it, Dr. William B. Ferril, MD, became a believer in
the corrupted mainstream view of the medical universe. According to him,
he believed in a system of health care where side effects and toxicity's
were treated with more medications and procedures. He regretfully
remembered discouraging patients from continuing or seeking alternative
treatment modalities. Stubborn patients continually pointed out to him
the inconsistencies of his educational training.
A major breakthrough occurred when he married his current wife, who happened to be chiropractor. As he witnessed changes in her patients with the use of herbs, colon health, and nutritional supplements he began the study of a more holistic perspective for his patients. The results of his investigation and research has generated two books, The Body Heals and Why Is My Doctor So Dumb? The following material is borrowed from his last book. Around middle age there are interrelated principles of health that tend to falter. Unless all are attended to the chronic degenerative diseases of middle age begin to insidiously propagate their deterioration on the body. Diet, lifestyle, physical and emotional toxins all contribute to imbalance resulting in unhealthy conditions. Common examples of these unhealthy conditions are: obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, arthritis, hormone imbalance, and diabetes. Each of these common diseases can be healed without side effects when the conditions that caused the imbalance are changed. The achievement of balance requires the afflicted owner¹s participation. When this first requirement continues to be ignored symptom control medicine remains the only treatment possibility. However, in owners who are willing to take an active in their disease solution there are many cases where the above diseases heal or at least stabilize. Mainstream medicine almost completely ignores the quality of the life energy integrity. Life energies are removed from the body at the time of death. These important energies form a common denominator between many alternative-healing modalities. Chiropractic, homeopathy, acupuncture, massage, yoga, meditative prayer, and chakra energy work all, each in their own way, reinvigorates the life energy field. Neglecting to consider these energies describes one consequence of living with a profit driven health care system. Profit considerations influence which universities receive the pharmaceutical companies' research funds. This financial reality in turn influences the way medical schools educate physicians to think about disease. Physicians have very little reason to doubt their education's until their patients begin providing living inconsistencies about how the body heals. Drugs are not the only solution for most visits to the doctors office. Syndrome X denotes owners who exist on an accelerated path to an old body and heart disease as well. Fat that accumulates around the middle signals excess insulin secretion rates occurring within. Insulin is a body hormone that carries information within the blood steam that directs how the body¹s cells spend their energy or stores as fat. Only 500 grams of sugar can store as glycogen with the liver and muscles. Above this limit the extra sugar converts into fat and cholesterol. Mainstream physicians are not taught about the simple relationship between increased insulin and the rise in activity level of the enzyme in the liver that converts sugar into cholesterol. Obese diabetics develop heart disease for the same reasons as the typical syndrome X patient. They both grow fat within their arteries because excess insulin message content exaggerates the amount of LDL cholesterol that the liver secretes into the blood stream. The excess LDL cholesterol accumulates within the macrophages in places like the coronary arteries inside surfaces. The over fed, mentally stressed and sedentary state provides the ideal situation that allows these fat accumulations to enlarge resulting in heart disease. Chronic lack of minerals, common to the processed food diet, predispose the coronary arteries to spasm. This event as some external event that destabilizes the plaque¹s surface or a blood clot closing off the already fatty narrowed area can result in a heart attack or stroke. Mineral deficiencies also contribute to the condition known as high blood pressure. Mainstream medical textbooks claim that more than ninety percent of all high blood pressure originates from unknown causes which usually leads doctors and patients to believe it is largely genetically determined. Insulin causes both a behavioral effect and a metabolic effect. There is the pre-occupation with food which was great for our ancestors during times of scarcity. However, today food scarcity rarely comes and owners with this survival trait tend to become fat and have high blood pressure. The continued exposure to high insulin message content directs the liver to make fat and cholesterol. The old survival advantage has become a curse in today's world of high carbohydrate foods and mental stress as well as causing hormonal changes. Thought For The Day: Imbalances in the body causes disease. The achievement of balance requires the afflicted owner's active participation in order to succeed. |
