OBESITY CAN BE CURED! By Walt Edwards Obesity serves as a constant example of strategies that fail. By addressing hormonal factors, restoring and maintaining appropriate proportions and quality, obesity can be cured! Reduce caloric intake, Low Carb Diet, South Beach Diet, Low Fat Diet, TOPS, etc. etc. to mention a few weight loss programs, have some success, but the majority, for many different reasons, end in failure. Most approaches ignore the role hormones play in feeding behaviors which perpetuate obesity. An effective weight loss strategy must include a method of obtaining and maintaining the proper relationship between the body's hormones. The strategy must also include a method to affect the behavior caused by the hormones. Though there are seven main hormones, initially the focus here will concentrate on the first three as they relate to obesity. They are: INSULIN, CORTISOL, and ANDROGEN. Insulin contributes most to making fat. Cortisol sabotages dieters by increasing insulin under stress. Androgens counteract the ability of insulin to make fat. The reduction of androgens occur with the aging process. First, consider the biggest fat maker - INSULIN. When this hormone is elevated beyond healthful levels, a vicious cycle of failed diet attempts and progressive weight gain occurs. Progressive obesity requires a high production of insulin. Insulin contains a powerful message to activate the appetite center within the brain. Once activated, the desire for the next feeding event becomes excessive. Thus the cravings for foods that give you the immediate satisfaction. The tendency toward obesity is the direct result of elevated insulin levels causing an excessive compulsion about food! (Sugar, grains, baked goods, high fat foods, etc.) Drhealth Glucose Support can help prevent the spiking of insulin. Insulin uniquely directs the different fuel types into cellular storehouses. When all the cell cupboards are full, the liver is told to make carbohydrates into fat. Insulin further facilitates and assists in the storage of fat in the belly area. Abdominal obesity stands out as a good clinical marker for owners who have high insulin levels. Insulin Resistance or Syndrome X ... A new medical disorder associated with both aging and poor lifestyle habits. Insulin resistance is marked by the gradual loss of sensitivity to insulin. As the peripheral tissues (for example, the muscles) increasingly resist the effects of insulin, many important functions do not occur. In fact, the body responds by producing even more insulin, which results in unnaturally high levels of insulin, glucose and unabsorbed nutrients circulating in the blood stream. Since high insulin levels hinder the conversion of glucose into energy, the results are stored as fat. Insulin resistance can be determined with the C-Peptide Level blood test and is explained in detail in the June 2003 Newsletter. Also see The Obesity Epidemic Will Cost Billions By 2020!, and Low Carbohydrate Anti Aging Diet Supplements. Second, consider the fact that CORTISOL sabotages those who attempt to diet under conditions of chronic life stress. High stress leads to higher stress hormone secretion. Increased cortisol levels lead to the amplification of the insulin message and the vicious cycle continues. As the obese owner grows, in size, his body secretes even more insulin for each unit of carbohydrate. Third, consider ANDROGENS - the anti-fat hormones. Fat diminishes when androgens are present in optimal amounts. This group of hormones contains testosterone, DHEA, and possibly progesterone. These hormone types reach their peak in early adulthood in both sexes and decline each year after age twenty-five which explains why you tend to put weight on as your age increases. The question of why do you crave high carb foods is more than psychological, but is explained in Endocrinology 101. How can you control or counter act the affect of coritisol and the release of insulin in your body? The low carb diets can affect fat production by reducing the release of insulin. There is also a product that helps control cravings by stabilizing blood sugar which is drhealth Glucose Support. Is there a solution to control the effect of cortisol? You may have seen CORTISLIM advertised on TV recently. It is available at the Health Gallery. After 15 years of scientific research, into cortisol Dr. Talbott formulated CORTISLIM to: (A) Control cortisol hormone and release fat cells from the abdomen/belly. (B) Maintain healthy glucose levels (already within normal range), resulting in fewer cravings and more consistent energy levels. (C) Ease "stress eating" signals from the brain by providing a calming effect. (D) Burn calories more efficiently and naturally through thermongenesis. (E) Suppresses appetite naturally, so you simply eat less. Thought For The Day: Anger and hatred are twin brothers, and their twin sisters are self-centeredness and selfishness. The anger the self-centeredness, the easier arises anger. The bigger the selfishness, the quicker arises hatred. All four are the causes of disease in the nervous and moral systems.
