Change The Rules and Make Millions For Drug Companies!
Up until a few weeks ago, if you asked anyone, including doctors what they considered a normal
or desirable adult blood pressure to be, 120/80 would have been the most frequent response.
Not any more. According to the new JNC-7 guidelines, 120/80 puts you in a new disease category
called "prehypertension" and at increased risk for heart attack, stroke, or kidney disease.
The recommendations for rectifying this potentially deadly disorder are the usual advice to
lose weight, avoid salt and sodium rich foods, exercise regularly, stop smoking and reduce
stress. However, we all know how difficult it is to achieve these goals, much less maintain
them. And even if you do, the results are not that rewarding, even for patients with blood
pressures of 160/100 and higher.
People with prehypertension are even less likely to find that lifestyle modification will normalize their blood pressure, which means that medication will be required. Chalk another one up for the drug companies and billions of dollars in their pockets. This same process of lowering the guide lines was done for potential diabetes patients by lowering blood sugar criteria from 126 to 121. C-reactive protein (CRP), the hidden culprit behind heart disease and how you can fight it was covered in the December 2002 newsletter. However, it deserves more exposure. Last November when the New England Journal of Medicine published a study showing that people with elevated CRP levels were twice as likely to have heart problems as those with normal levels. Has your doctor suggested you have your CRP level checked? Are You at Risk for Leaky Gut Syndrome? This problem is very common (often undiagnosed) condition in which the lining of the small intestine becomes inflamed. Many different things, including the following, can cause this inflammation: 1. Alcohol and/or drinks containing caffeine. 2. Overuse of antibiotics resulting in destruction of the ³good² bacteria in the intestines. 3. Undigested or partially digested food due to lack of adequate digestive enzymes. 4. Foods contaminated by certain bacteria or parasites. 5. Corticosteroids, such as prednisone, and/or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like aspirin or Ibuprofen. 6. Consumption of large quantities of highly refined carbohydrates, (sugar and processed flour). Recent articles report the use of digestive enzymes and colostrum reduces the pain and severity of some food allergies. Also important is the selection and preparation of food as well as the actual consumption of the food. A good grade of probiotics would be helpful to establish a healthy intestinal environment. D-MANNOSE Knocks Pain and Urgency from E.Coli Caused Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) In 12-24 Hours Without Antibiotics! Over 10 million office visits a year relate to UTIs, most commonly inflammation of the bladder or cystitis. Convential treatment with antibiotics indiscriminately kills both beneficial and pathogenic bacteria triggering resistant strains that are harder to treat. Antibiotics also result in nutritional deficiencies and routinely cause vaginitis due to overgrowth of yeast. D-MANNOSE cost is $30.00 for 50 grams. Fifty Percent of Skin Aging Is A Result of Sugar. Itıs As Bad For Your Skin As Sun Exposure! Dr. Perricone makes this statement in his book, The Wrinkle Cure. His book advocates a three-pronged approach to skin aging: diet, supplements and cosmeceuticals. The product Skin Eternal Cream contains many of the products listed in his book, such as alpha lipoic acid, biotin, CoQ10, DMAE, MSM, vitamins A, C-ester, E and chamomile. $22.95 From Bad to Worse: Prozac's Secret Ingredient! Itıs bad enough that Prozac is an inherently dangerous drug, but now there's another reason to steer clear of it. It comes with the additional baggage of supplying even more fluoride to your already over-fluorided body. The kind of fluoride so many of us have been grumbling about for years is officially known as sodium fluoride. A typical daily dose of Prozac is 20 milligrams. Sixteen and a half percent of that 20 mg is fluoride, which works out to a daily fluoride dose of 3.3 milligrams. That's 3 1/2 times the maximum dosage considered safe for drinking water! If you take twice that much Prozac daily, which is not at all unusual, you are headed for fluoride-induced PROBLEMS, which might include arteriosclerosis, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer's disease. Thought For The Day: Treatment from the outside leaves the body's healing powers untapped. Healing that comes from within taps the body's own powers of regeneration! |
