ARE YOU SICK AND TIRED OF FEELING SICK AND TIRED? By Walt "dr health" Edwards Please contact me using this number: 1-541-247-7077 Past issues available on my web site: getwel-newsletter. It's a new year! If you're not happy with your life, your health, your job or situation... then do something about it. You control the "power of choice" to make changes in your behavior and lifestyle. No one is going to do it for you. What you put in your mouth and your life style are directly related to your health and how you feel. Over 90% of doctor visits which costs us billions of dollars every year and cause as many as 300,000 deaths a year can be associated to diet and lifestyle. If you feel ten years older than you are, you're depressed, youčre over weight condition is affecting your life, you find yourself addicted to high carb foods or addicted to drugs (legal or illegal), a smoker who wants to quit, answer this question! If you don't take responsibility for your life... who will? Your situation, no matter what it might be will only deteriorate if you don't make some positive changes. Your life is your responsibility. IF YOU DON'T TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR DIET AND LIFESTYLE, ONE DAY, YOUR BODY WILL RULE YOUR DIET AND LIFESTYLE! We have become a nation of drug takers. If we feel low... take a pill, got a head ache... take a pill, stomach reacting to that big meal... take a pill to neutralize the acid (should have taken a digestive enzyme to aide the digestive process), have high blood pressure... take one or more pills, feeling depressed... take an antidepressant (be careful some tend to cause suicide), etc. Rather than deal with the cause and solve the problem, we seek immediate gratification by covering up the problem. START 2005 BY CONSIDERING THE FOLLOWING: 1. Do you really need a flu shot? Right after the media released the possible shortage of flu vaccine, people were stampeding to their doctors office demanding their flu shots early. Public health officials promote vaccines to establish "herd immunity." Between "orange alerts" and the over-hyped flu scares, we're growing hooves! If you were to visit one lab where the vaccines are made and see what gets injected into those chicken embryos, you would swear them off for good. Flu vaccines are loaded with additives you don't want circulating in your blood stream: thimerosal, aluminum, formaldehyde and ethylene glycol, otherwise known as mercury, embalming fluid and antifreeze. In addition, the current vaccine, is always a season late on the connection, being based on the previous season's virus. The prediction was way off last year. The flu shots did little good, but made the drug industry millions of dollars! 2. Are you concerned about anti-aging? Thousands of research studies have shown caloric restriction to be effective in extending life and delaying disease in a myriad of different species. The majority of the benefits from calorie restriction are related to its influence on insulin, as reducing calories also reduces insulin, the major accelerant of aging. Many scientists believe that the benefits of caloric restriction are due to lower oxidative stress from less calories (oxidative stress can be reduced with antioxidants). Cosmetic surgery is a growing phenomenon, and men and women between the ages of 35 and 50 spent $20 billion in plastic surgery and non-surgery skin treatments in 2003 alone. Now if your goal is simply to LOOK younger, cosmetic surgery will certainly give you what you want (although there is always the risk of surgical errors or side effects), but the major problem is that plastic surgery will do nothing to help you FEEL younger. And what good is it to look like you're 30 if you feel like you're 80? The real "fountain of youth" is a healthy diet. Insulin is the major accelerant of aging, and you can keep your insulin levels down by reducing or eliminating grains and sugar in your diet. Vegetables are extremely important and vegetable juicing and lifestyle changes can be very helpful. Mighty Green or Just Barley are both excellent additions to juicing drinks. Chlorella is one of nature's true "superfoods," that is helpful to detoxify heavy metal build-up. 3. Living cells generate huge amounts of waste every day. Western medicine often fails to counsel patients effectively on ways to take out the trash. Accumulating trash leads the body down the path to disease and hastens the body to grow old before its time. Consider a good detox like Cleanse Smart or Ultimate Cleanse to start the year off. 4. There are a number of studies that show that omega-3 fatty acids in fish oils are associated with decreased depression. If this subject interests you, suggest reading Dr. Stoll's book The Omega-3 Connection. He is a Harvard psychiatrist who has done a great job of compiling the evidence supporting the use of fish oils for depression, joint pain and circulation problems. Thought For The Day: Where there is pain, I wish you peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubting, I wish you a renewed confidence in your ability to work through them. Where there is tiredness or exhaustion, I wish you understanding, patience and renewed strength. Where there is fear, I wish you love and courage! Let's work together to have a wonderful healthy NEW YEAR! |
