What Is Chelation Therapy?Chelation Therapy reverses the condition known as hardened or blocked arteries. And yet the treatment is not generally accepted by the Medical Establishment for the clearing of clogged blood vessels. Instead, organized medicine tries to limit Chelation treatment for lead poisoning, snake bite, and other types of toxicity reactions. The Beginning Of Chelation Therapy... Chelation Therapy was introduced into the United States in 1948 after its development in Germany in the early 1930s by F. Munz, a German chemist, who synthesized and patented EDTA (ethylene diamine tetracetic acid). EDTA was first used medically to remove the "metal" lead in cases involving lead poisoning. The U.S. Navy was also interested in EDTA, using it to remove lead from the arteries of sailors who absorbed it while while they painted Navy ships and docks. The therapy is still used for that purpose. After physicians observed patients who suffered from both lead poisoning and arteriosclerosis started to improve following intravenous chelation therapy with EDTA. Some doctors started to treat others with vascular conditions, even if they didn't have lead poisoning. After being treated, many patients also showed signs of improved skin color, muscle coordination and circulation. That was the beginning of Chelation Therapy. What Can Chelation Be Used For? Specifically designated for correcting circulatory difficulties, Chelation Therapy has already been administered to thousands of Americans and well over one million Canadians, Russians, Europeans, Australians, South Americans, and other people around the world who suffered from hardening of the arteries. Chelation has been used for the following: Age spots, alzheimer's disease, angina, arteriosclerosis, arthritis, carpal tunnel, fibromyalgia, heart disease, heavy metal poisoning, high blood pressure, macular degeneration, memory loss, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, senility, strokes, high cholesterol, etc. An Alternative To Bypass Surgery! Initially, physicians believed that the primary benefit of chelation therapy with EDTA was that it lowers blood calcium, which contributes to plaque build-up in our arteries. Because EDTA is an amino acid, it doesn't float through the blood stream but works its way through the tissues, the capillary bed and through the tissue fluids, extracting toxic metals from the body's 60 trillion cells. As calcium is pulled from the plaque, its 'cementing' action is lost and the cholesterol and other substances are free to again join the blood stream to be eliminated later from the body. Is Chelation Therapy Becoming More Popular??? Last year, more than 400,000 people went for chelation treatments. This figure has grown every year, and shows no sign of leveling off. It is estimated that 3 out of every 4 clients who want to take I.V. Chelation Therapy are unable to do so for one of the following reasons: 1. They don't have the three to four hours required to sit in the I.V. chair plus the wait and travel time. 2. They are not in close proximity to a chelating physician. 3. They are too sick to travel. 4. They are afraid of needles. 5. Their veins are unsuitable for repetitive I.V.'s. 6. They have congestive heart failure and cannot take the fluid burden. 7. The average cost per treatment is $145 to $165. Is Chelation Therapy Limited To A Doctors Office??? There are other choices of Chelation such as Oral and Suppository. The following are situations that are addressed by Suppository Chelation: 1. The Suppository can be done in the clients home, no travel is required. 2. A client can be anywhere in the world and receive the Suppository Chelation in the mail. 3. Veins are not an issue. 4. EDTA suppositories are particularly well suited to congestive heart failure since the suppository does not add fluids to the body. 5. The cost per box of ten suppositories is $99. 6. Oral and Suppository Chelation can be used together. Oral Chelator supplements are usually designed for specific purposes. They act as a stopgap for some patients who must interrupt their intravenous Chelation Therapy. They also are useful for people who cannot accept the invasive form of chelation treatment because of various medical reason. A maintenance program of chelators can be used between IV chelating sessions and/or after a successful program completion. The average Oral Chelation costs $49.95 a month. Pulse Pressure... is a measure of how hard the heart is beating. A higher PPr means it takes more force to push the blood around the body, and the heart has to work harder to do so. This test can be done with a standard blood pressure device. For those readers who may be interested in learning how to measure Pulse Pressure, call or stop by the Health Gallery. Thought For The Day... Where there is pain, I wish you peace and mercy. Where there is Self-doubting, I wish you a renewed confidence in your ability to work through them. Where there is tiredness or exhaustion, I wish you understanding, patience and renewed strength. Where there is fear, I wish you love and courage. HAPPY NEW YEAR! |
