The Chlorine Connection to
Cardiovascular Disease

An unprecedented epidemic of sickness and infectious diseases including the latest auto-immune diseases sweeping the country brings to mind the terrible human suffering due to AIDS, Cancer, Arthritis, Lopez, Epstein Barr Virus, Multiple Sclerosis, CADS, Candidiasis, HIV, etc.

Nevertheless, there are great many more deaths and suffering each year by heart attacks and strokes than persons affected by all the serious ailments and diseases combined, including AIDS! Cardiovascular (heart disease) and cerebrovascular (stroke) diseases together make up the most serious uncontrolled disease processes afflicting mankind today.

More than one-half million Americans die each year of the common heart attack. The true reality of the problem is not depicted in these numbers. Besides the deaths, one must not forget the vast toll of nonfatal heart attacks - the costs of medical care, loss of wages, the terrible physical and mental anguish of the patient and his family, etc.

There are massive medical research programs studying heart disease, the prevention, the cause, and the control, all costing millions of dollars. For certain groups the death rate is still rising - a true, full scale epidemic. The increased medical costs of heart disease is one of the prime causes for our national health debt.

The heart attack takes place suddenly, however it only occurs in previously diseased arteries which is known as atherosclerosis or "hardening of the arteries." Atherosclerosis is characterized by the gradual accumulation of certain fatty substances embedded in the inner wall of the arteries, layer by layer making the "opening" smaller and smaller. This process can be compared to the gradual deposition of lime scales on the inner surface of hot water pipes.

It should be clear that a heart attack is but the end result of a slow progressive process in which small deposits, layer by layer are built up in the insides of our arteries. The logical deduction would support the view that this build up does not occur suddenly, but over several years. In most cases at least 10 to 20 years are needed for the process to develop before any overt symptoms occur.

Another logical thought would be if atherosclerotic plaque is evident in the coronary arteries, other arteries through out our bodies would also be affected. It would seem to be a wise solution, besides diet and exercise, that Chelation Therapy would be superior treatment than the standard "bypass" which only effects the heart. However, the medical establishment supports the "bypass" and consequently provides incomplete treatment at a high cost of $50,000 rather than $3500 for Chelation Therapy. The Insurance Industry will only pay for treatment that is supported by the American Medical Association. Unfortunately, they will not pay for the chelation treatment because it is considered "preventive" and not accepted by the AMA.

Another area of disagreement with the medical establishment is the Cholesterol Theory. There are strong disagreements among medical scientists as to such basic knowledge as the exact mechanism of accumulation of lipids in the inner linings of arteries, much less the underlying cause of the same.

The only things that are known as to the cause of atherosclerosis are certain correlations, and a correlation does not imply causation. (A correlation means that two different things tend to exist together but does not necessarily mean that one causes the other.)

Modern medical researchers have centered most of their heart research investigations directly at cholesterol and have assigned it such importance - many medical scientists point an accusing finger at cholesterol as the primary causative agent in atheromatous plaques because it is composed mainly of cholesterol. In addition, lesions very similar to human plaque may be produced at will in certain species of animals by feeding them diets high in cholesterol. Finally, it is thought that there is a correlation between blood cholesterol levels in men and their likelihood or developing conditions that cause a heart attack or . . .

(You have just completed the first two pages of a SPECIAL INVESTIGATIVE REPORT explaining the connection between Chlorine and Cardiovascular disease. This report describes in detail information that the public should be aware of if they are drinking chlorine treated water and what they can do about protecting themselves. Documented evidence reveals the concern by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on the ingestion of Chlorine and cholesterol as far back as 1987.)
